Six Halloween friends to cut and stick, about fifteen minutes each — plus two Halloween hunts. Paper, scissors and a glue stick; friendly, not spooky. A 33-page printable PDF and a one-page Start Here, for $7.
Description
Six friends. Fifteen minutes each. Nothing scary in the stack.
There is an afternoon every October when the costumes are decided, the candy is hidden on the top shelf, and Halloween is still nine days away. Somebody is standing in the kitchen asking what they can do, and the answer cannot be “eat the candy.”
I have been in that kitchen with a phone in one hand, scrolling past crafts that needed googly eyes, felt and a hot glue gun, and past pages that were a little too gory for a five-year-old. I wanted something I could print, hand over and sit down with.
So this is that. Print it, get the scissors and the glue stick out of the drawer, and clear a spot at the table. That is the whole setup.
What it is
A 33-page printable pack of six cut-and-stick Halloween friends, each one sized to about fifteen minutes at the kitchen table, plus two Halloween hunts and a page of name tags.
What it is not: spooky. No skeletons, no fangs, no gravestones. A smiling spider is about as scary as it gets.
What is inside
- Six friends to build — a little mummy, an owl in a witch’s hat, a purple pumpkin, a smiling spider, a haunted house with friendly ghosts in the windows, and a trick-or-treat bucket you fill with paper candy.
- Two versions of every friend — ready-colored (just cut and stick) and color-it-yourself, so the child who wants a pink owl gets one.
- A “which piece goes where” page for the grown-up who gets asked “where does this go?”
- The Picture Hunt for little ones — find each thing around the house or out the window and color its square. No reading needed.
- The Halloween Hunt for big kids — twenty things to check off in the house, on the street, in a book or at the store. First to twenty picks the movie.
- Name tags — “Hi, my name is… I was built by…”, with extras for cousins and friends.
Why there’s no app with this one
Most of my products come with an app version too. This one is scissors and glue from the first page to the last, so there is nothing to fill in on a screen. It is a printable, and it says so.
Before and after
Before: “I’m bored” at four o’clock, and a craft search that ends in a trip to the store.
After: six friends lined up on the windowsill with their names on, and a child who made every one of them.
“My kids are different ages.”
That is why every friend comes in two versions and there are two hunts. A little one can glue a ready-colored mummy and color squares on the picture hunt while a big kid colors the haunted house and races through the twenty-item list. Same table, same afternoon.
Who is writing this
I am Robin — a mom of four and a grandmother of seven, in Florida, and I have had a lot of Octobers with a lot of children in the house. Everything I make is the thing I actually needed at the time, built so it works on a Tuesday and not just on paper.
